Our Team

Pebbles / Director

Hello! I am 15 years old. I have been involved in musical theatre, dance and choir for several years and love to perform. My passions include singing, dancing, snowboarding, competitive kayaking. I first started this program two years ago to earn my way to a national kayak regatta, and it was an amazing experience! I am super exited to work with your kids this year at Playful Pines. I love seeing how expressive, creative and energetic they all are!

Zoe

Zoe / Assistant Director

Hello, I am 12 years old. I have performed in many musical theatre productions in various roles. I love dancing, singing, playing guitar, acting and volleyball. I am really exited to work with you all this summer! I hope to see you there!

Wyn / Stage Manager, Dance Captain

Hi, I am also 15 and will be the dance captain and stage manager. I dance competitively on a high school team and also do ballet. I love working with kids and being outside. When I’m not dancing or spending time outside, you can find me painting or playing with my cat. I am really excited for this year’s theater camp!

Musical theatre for kids, by kids

Our camp is entirely run by the Playful Pines team, but a responsible adult will chaperone to ensure the safety of our participants. With three directors and a maximum of ten participants, we prioritize an engaging experience.

Last year’s play was based on Maurice Sendak’s ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. Our 2026 performance will be an adaptation of ‘Charlotte’s Web

We learn the script, songs and dances as well as play games and have fun!

Our arrangements are based on existing songs as well as our own compositions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child need prior theatrical, dance or music experience?

All experience levels, including beginners, are welcome. There will be a variety of parts available — some with minimal speaking or solo singing, some with more or less physical acting, dancing, etc. We will work with each child to help them learn their lines and have a part in the production. The age minimum for the camp is 7 because it is really helpful if kids can read the script on their own. All kids participating in the camp should be capable of sitting and focusing for brief periods, and willing to perform on stage for an audience of friends and family.

What abilities can you accommodate?

Children participating in the camp should be able to independently manage their bathroom needs, give attention to tasks for 20-minute intervals, communicate clearly and safely participate in a group. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us to discuss individual circumstances.

Do you offer a sibling discount?

Yes, we offer a $50 sibling discount: for example, the registration fee for one child is $200. For two children from the same family, the total would be $350.

Do you offer scholarships or other discounts?

We recognize varying financial needs in the community, however, we are a young business team without funding or donations from a larger organization. At some point in the future we hope to have the resources to help children from any financial circumstance participate.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Venmo is the most convenient; you can send payments to my Mom, @PaulaAirth. If you don’t have Venmo, you can email us or text her at 801-330-2089 to discuss other payment forms.

What does my child need to bring?

We will rehearse outside unless weather is unsafe or unhealthy. Please dress appropriately with layers, rain jackets, hats, sunscreen, etc as needed. Each child should bring a sack lunch, snacks and a water bottle.

How many kids will be at the camp?

We need at least 6 kids for each session (morning and afternoon) for a successful show; registration is capped at 10 kids per session.

What is your cancellation policy?

Each session has a minimum of 6 registrants necessary to run. If we do not receive enough registrations 14 days prior to the session start date, registrants will be notified and full refunds issued.

If a child is no longer able to participate 21 days prior to the camp, we will issue a full refund. Cancelling less than 21 days prior to the camp is subject to a 50% refund. After the camp begins, we are unable to issue refunds.
